Wilma Viola May Stogoski

On Friday, August 16, 2024, Wilma Viola May Stogoski (nee. Osterman) passed away peacefully at the home of her son, Charles in Scarborough Maine. She was 99 years old, born April 10, 1925 in Pekin, Illinois. She and her sister Elsie worked for the army during World War II in Huntsville, Alabama assembling gas masks. Wilma supervised the distribution of the equipment. Wilma transferred at the request of the army to Baltimore, Maryland where she met her husband, Charles Stogoski. They were married in 1950. She lived in Dundalk, Maryland for the rest of her life, raising five children; Charles, William, Beverly, Edward (deceased), and Kenneth (deceased). Her husband died in February 1992. After her husband's death she lived her last 26 years with her son Bill.

Mom, as she was called by her children and young neighbors, loved the color yellow and had a great fondness for animals. Later in life kept busy working puzzles and playing card games with her son Bill.

She is survived by her sons Chuck and Bill, her daughter Bev Keener, and was called Mom-Mom by her grandchildren Christen and Jessica. She was known as Nanny by her four great grandchildren; Grant, Wyatt, Quinn, and Ryleigh.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at Connelly Funeral Home, 7110 Sollers Point Road, Dundalk, MD on Monday, 8/26 from 2 until 4 PM and 6 until 8 PM with a memorial service at 7 PM. She will be buried at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery on Tuesday, 8/27 at 11 AM.
